Win 7 - Timer Disappears

I've been using TimerSync for a few months now with no problems. However, ever since I moved to Windows 7, the timer seems to disappear. The timer does show when I first install the app. At some point, the timer decides never to show again.

If I right click on the tray icon and select show timer, the icon appears on the taskbar but I still can't see the timer.
I am able to right click on the tray icon and select settings. The settings dialog pops up on my second monitor which I find strange.

I've also customized the tray area to always show the tray icon and noticiations in case Win7 was somehow stopping it.

I've reinstalled Win7 multiple times to no avail.

Any idea's?

Hi Isaac,

Is your taskbar at the bottom of the screen? The first time you install timerSync it tries to position itself right above the taskbar, but if you have the taskbar somewhere else (not at the bottom of the screen), the behavior is undefined. I believe I addressed this issue in a newer release (but I am not sure did it actually solve the problem). Can you provide this info?

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I've been using the online timer that freshbooks provides until I can get this fixed.

My taskbar is located at the bottom of the screen.

Is there anyone running Windows 7 with dual monitors that have timersync working?

What is the next step to get this working? I am willing to provide you remote access to my workstation via VNC if it would help in getting this issue resolved.

Hi Isaac,

Ah, two monitors. This could have something with the problem.

Re the remote access, yes, I would really like to have a look, you can email me the information.

Thanks for replying :)

I am having the same problem. Windows 7, tray at the bottom, single monitor. All of a sudden, the timer will not display. I've uninstalled and installed a couple times. Nothing seems to work. Is there a fix for this problem?

Update to my previous post: I got it working. I uninstalled timersync again but this time I also deleted the invoicesync folder under Program Files (x86). Uninstalling using the invoicesync Uninstall utility does not delete the invoicesync program folder. If you re-install without deleting this folder first you do not get a true fresh install and you still get the disappearing timer window problem.

Mike, thank you for the update.

Maybe the uninstall program has a problem (failing to overwrite some DLL and you end up using some mixture of different versions.

I'll address this in the next release.
